BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) said it is endorsing Katie Britt in her Senate run in the 2022 elections.
Britt is running in the Republican primary against five other candidates, all of whom are seeking to replace the retiring Sen. Richard Shelby. Britt is the former chief of staff to Shelby, who has said he will transfer up to one-third of the approximately $9.6 million he has in his two political action committees to Britt.
Among the other candidates for the Senate seat is Mo Brooks, who has been endorsed by Donald Trump.
“We are incredibly proud to support Katie Britt in her race for U.S. Senate. Britt has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to standing up for Alabama small businesses and financial institutions,” said Patrick La Pine, CEO of LSCU & Affiliates. “As credit unions continue to invest in their members and local communities, we look forward to working alongside Britt to further enhance the financial well-being of Alabamians.”
‘Will Work Tirelessly’
Added Britt, “I’m proud to have the endorsement of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions. In the Senate, I will continue to fight so that hardworking Alabama families and small businesses can thrive across our state, no matter their zip code. I will work tirelessly to cut burdensome regulations, slash red tape, and lower taxes so that Alabamians can seize opportunity and succeed free of government obstruction. Together, we will preserve the American Dream and build a strong future for our children and our children’s children.”
With the endorsement, LSCU said it looks forward to supporting Britt financially and through offering grassroots support.
