League of Southeastern CUs Kicks Off its SCUCE Event

ORLANDO, Fla.– The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates annual convention, the Southeastern Credit Union Conference & Expo (SCUCE), is underway here.

The event has attracted more than 1,100 attendees representing more than 130 credit unions.

The association noted this year’s conference is themed “Engage for Impact,” as attendees from across Alabama, Florida, Georgia and beyond “engage with one another and with riveting presentations and breakout sessions, all to make a stronger impact together for their members and communities.”

The ‘Heartbeat’

“Our members are the heartbeat of LSCU, and SCUCE always provides a tremendous opportunity to learn from and collaborate with credit unions to more effectively serve and lead in the year to come,” said LSCU President Samantha Beeler. “It’s also a great venue to help educate one another on emerging topics, threats, and opportunities so we can better advocate for what is important to credit unions, and this week always reminds us why we do what we do.”

According to the league, the conference will offer a host of informative and inspirational sessions aimed at the exponential impact credit unions can have when collaborating. Among the presenters are America’s Credit Unions’ CEO Jim Nussle and World Council of Credit Unions President and CEO Elissa McCarter LaBorde.

‘Gather & Grow’

"We strive to make every SCUCE the best one yet, and this year is set to surpass them all,” Steve Willis, president of Affiliates Consolidated Services and LEVERAGE, said in a statement. “From celebrating the incredible achievements of our members, to forging and growing relationships, to learning from our members how we can better serve them, to providing a family reunion-style atmosphere where credit union leaders from across the southeast can gather and grow, this SCUCE will certainly be one to remember.”

The SCUCE Exhibit Hall, featuring more than 180 vendors, the league said.
