TALLAHASSEE, Fla./BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Alvin J. (A.C.) Cowans has been elected chairman of the board for the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates.
The result was announced at the Southeast Credit Union Conference and Expo last week. Other changes to the board include:
- As a result of the transition from 16 to 12 members, four seats were not filled, either due to elimination of the seat, a seat being vacant or a director stepping down.
- Jeanette Keller of Blue Flame Credit Union in Mobile ran unopposed as the candidate for Region 1 (Alabama) and was re-elected by acclamation for another four-year term. Rounding out the board are: Tina Williams, chair-elect (Region 1, Category 2); Pat Mason, vice chair (Region 2, Category 1); Ron Summerall, treasurer (Region 1, Category 2); Kevin Johnson, secretary (Region 2, Category 3); Sharon Downing (Region 1, Category 1); Brad Green (Region 1, Category 3); Caryl Greene (Region 2, Category 2); Rick Skaggs (Region 2, Category 2); Linda Walker (Region 1, Category 2); and Mary Ott Wood (Region 2, Category 1).
Meanwhile, in Bismarck, N.D., elections for the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas board of directors were held last week during the business meeting at the annual CUAD Summit in Bismarck. New board members include: Jarrod Reisner, Black Hills FCU; Jeff Schmidt, Voyage FCU; and Nick Woodard, United Savings. Current board members Peter Butterfield, Dakota Plains FCU and Mary Connick, Minuteman FCU were unopposed and will continue to serve. The nine-person CUAD board and the divisions they represent are as follows.
- CUAD Board Chair: Peter Butterfield. Peter is the CEO/Manager of Dakota Plains Federal Credit Union (Lemmon, SD) and represents South Dakota Division B credit unions.
- First Vice Chair CUAD: Mary Connick. Mary is the President/CEO of Minuteman Federal Credit Union (Rapid City, SD) and represents South Dakota Division C credit union.
- Second Vice Chair CUAD: Nick Woodard. Nick is the President/CEO of United Savings Credit Union (Fargo, ND) and holds the Multi-State-At-Large seat.
- Secretary/Treasurer: Veronica Holweger. Veronica is the Manager of Riverfork Federal Credit Union (Grand Forks, ND) and represents North Dakota Division C credit unions.
- Chair of Mid America Service Corp (MASC): Steve Davis. Steve is the COO of Capital Credit Union (Bismarck, ND) and he represents North Dakota Division A credit unions.
- First Vice Chair MASC: Shannon Webster. Shannon is the Senior VP of Marketing at Town & Country Credit Union (Minot, ND) and she holds the North Dakota At-Large seat.
- Board Member Joel Metz. Joel is a director at Prairie Federal Credit Union (Minot, ND) and he represents North Dakota Division B credit unions.
- Board Member Jarrod Reisner. Jarrod is the Senior VP of Finance at Black Hills Federal Credit Union (Rapid City, SD) and he represents South Dakota Division A credit unions.
- Board Member Jeff Schmidt. Jeff is the COO of Voyage Federal Credit Union (Sioux Falls, SD) and he holds the South Dakota At-Large seat
