ORLANDO—Three credit unions have been honored by the League of Southeastern Credit Unions as their Credit Unions of the Year.
Recognized during the LSCU’s Conference and Expo here were:
- The $64.4 million Tallahassee Memorial Health Care Federal Credit Union. According to the LSCU, Tallahassee Memorial Health Care FCU saw growth in assets and members, as well as lending (up by 10%) in 2016, after it had a strong year in 2015. It also employs a full-time financial literacy officer and hosts numerous events.
- The $137-million Keys Federal Credit Union in Key West. In quite the turnaround story, Keys Federal was recognized this year by the LSCU after emerging from conservatorship in 2015. The credit union was recognized in the $100 million to $500 million asset category. During 2016 KFCU and its CEO, Scott Duszynski, supported more than 50 organizations in the community.
- The $1.4-billion America’s First FCU in Birmingham, Ala. Winning in the more than $500 million in assets category, America’s First was recognized for growing membership and lending by more than 10% in 2016.
