TEMPE, Ariz.–Landings Credit Union is among seven businesses here that have been named the first Equal Pay Business Partners in the City of Tempe.
The Equal Pay Business Partner program requires companies to complete a worksheet to determine if they are providing equal pay. Payroll numbers do not have to be submitted to the city.
Businesses that need some work to get the equal pay designation can receive coaching from the city's Office of Strategic Management and Diversity, according to Landings CU. Those that qualify receive Equal Pay Business Partner status, which gives businesses the opportunity to use the Equal Pay Business Partner logo on their websites, in hiring materials and on storefront windows.
The program was initiated by City of Tempe council members Lauren Kuby, David Shapira, and Robin Arredondo-Savage which have been working on this since February of 2015, the credit union noted. The working group took substantial time to verify that the city's own standing as an employer committed to equal pay was solid. As a result, The City of Tempe also received the designation today.
The other companies who were awarded the Equal Pay Business Partners include GoDaddy, Mountain Park Health Center, Express Employment Professionals, Architekton, Mulligan's Manor, and Dinos2 Personalized Auto Sales, Inc.
