PORTLAND, Ore. —A man who allegedly robbed several Portland, Ore., credit unions, wielding a knife and machete, has been arrested, KGW8 reported.
Investigators say the man, identified as 60-year-old Lance Fluker, robbed the Advantis Credit Union at Northeast 15th and Fremont after 5:30 p.m. on Friday while armed with a knife. Police said he came back to the same office with a machete around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers searched the area both times but could not locate him, KGW8 said.
Less than 30 minutes later on Saturday afternoon, police say a suspect matching the description of the previous robberies held up an office of Columbia Credit Union around 1:05 p.m., KGW8 said.
Later on Saturday, a man who matched the description of the three previous robberies was detained at Southeast 39th and Belmont, KGW8 said.
The Major Crimes Unit identified Fluker as the same suspect who robbed a bank at North Williams Avenue and Ivy Street on October 19. There were no injuries reported in any of the robberies, KGW8 said.
Fluker was wanted on an outstanding warrant for violating parole related to Robbery in the First Degree. Additional charges are expected from the U.S. Attorney's Office and FBI, KGW8 said.
