ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.–Kirtland Federal Credit Union said it has partnered with the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Foundation to support veterans in the state who have been impacted by wildfires.
The Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon Fire is now the biggest wildfire in the state’s history and continues to burn. It has already consumed 311,000 acres and hundreds of homes and structures.
Kirtland Federal Credit Union and the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Foundation have organized a Wildfire Relief Donation Drive for goods to be delivered to evacuation sites in affected regions. Items may be purchased online through a designated Amazon Wish List. Those wishing to contribute can navigate to Kirtlandfcu.org/wildfire-relief and click on the “start shopping” button to choose their donation.
“Our fellow New Mexicans have faced tremendous loss as a result of the wildfires raging across our beautiful state,” said Kirtland FCU President and CEO Matt Rarden. “Part of Kirtland Federal Credit Union’s core foundation is based on supporting our families and our communities. Our members, our employees and our communities are coming together to help those who need it most – just as New Mexicans always do. Our hearts are with everyone who is suffering from these devastating fires.”
Branches Accepting Donations
Monetary donations may be made at any Kirtland Federal Credit Union branch located throughout the Albuquerque metro area. Monetary donations will be distributed to veterans’ organizations, then dispersed to displaced veterans.
