LOUISVILLE, Ky.–The $390-million Kentucky Telco Credit Union announced it will be changing its name, but has not yet revealed what that new name will be.
Chartered in 1934 to serve employees of the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Co., Kentucky Telco has since grown to serve more than 800 select employee groups and expanded to a community charter that encompasses the Kentucky cities of Owensboro, Lexington and Louisville.
The credit union has included a link on its website and sent a letter to members letting them know the name change is coming. One point emphasized in the communications is that the CU has not been sold and it is still owned by its 47,000 members.
