PHOENIX–Landings Credit Union held a month-long water drive to and collected donations from members, staff, and business partners of more than 650 cases of water, or approximately 15,000 bottles for local charities in the East Valley.
When the weather climbs to over 100 degrees in the Valley of the Sun the need for water for families in need and the homeless is a top priority, the credit union said. Temperatures have hit as high as 120 degrees in Phoenix. Several of the local charities benefitting from the Landings water drive include the Tempe Community Action Agency, The United Way Food Bank, and AZCEND.
With the help of Landings staff and a box truck generously donated by Arizona Investment Link, a local real estate company in the valley, the credit union moved more than 650 cases of water to these local charities. In 2016, Landings CU donated 7,000 bottles of water and this year's goal was 10,000, which it exceeded.
