CHICAGO—How much loot could you grab in a warehouse store if given 60 seconds to do so? Some CU members here just found out.
For the fourth consecutive year, St. Petersburg, Fla.-based PSCU sponsored the “Credit Union Magic Minute” as part of its loyalty program. Nine teams won an all-expenses paid trip to Chicago, along with prizes from the 60-second shopping spree. This year, two teams ran the dash to benefit non-profit organizations, the company said.
Credit union members from APCI Federal Credit Union (Lehigh Valley, Penn.); Baltimore County Employees Federal Credit Union (Towson, Md.); Citadel Federal Credit Union (Exton, Penn.); Founders Federal Credit Union (Lancaster, S.C.); GTE Financial (Tampa, Fla.); Tinker Federal Credit Union (Oklahoma City, Okla.); and TruMark Financial Credit Union (Fort Washington, Penn.) were selected in random drawings held during the sweepstakes period. Each team loaded up an average of $5,000 worth of items, including MacBook Airs, TVs, game systems, cookware, Go-Pros and iPads.
PSCU also awarded a place at the Magic Minute starting line to two special teams. The first spot went to the credit union with the highest participation in the sweepstakes by its cardholders. The team of dashers from American Airlines Credit Union (Fort Worth, Texas) selected Warlick’s Warriors as the recipient of its shopping haul. The CUSO also partnered with former NFL defensive tackle Anthony “Spice” Adams, who ran on behalf of SOS Children’s Villages Illinois. Adams’ shopping haul was donated directly to the four sites at SOS Children’s Villages Illinois as part of the organization’s Holiday Giving Program.
“Credit Union Magic Minute is a fun way to use PSCU’s Total Member Loyalty rewards program to engage members and build relationships,” said Annie Cox, VP of credit union growth solutions for PSCU. “Creating the opportunity to give back to two non-profits, especially during the holiday season, is an added bonus.”
Representatives from each respective credit union made the trip to Chicago with their winning team, further strengthening the relationship between the member and their credit union, PSCU said.
“According to several credit unions in attendance at the event, Magic Minute represents the credit union philosophy that members are not just a number, and that their loyalty is truly appreciated,” the company said.
PSCU teamed up with Hinda Incentives – the merchandise fulfillment partner for PSCU’s CURewards program – on the sweepstakes for the fourth year.
