Jamaican Credit Union Rolling Out Year-Long Event

KINGSTON, Jamaica–COK Sodality Co-Operative Credit Union here has launched a year-long 50th anniversary celebration, beginning with a “Blast Off 2017” event at the Knutsford Court Hotel.

Blast Off 2017, a team-building exercise for COK staff members, saw various branches and individual employees being recognized and awarded prizes for their performance in 2016, according to the credit union.

“Through motivational presentations and staff involvement, Blast Off 2017 re-energized COK staff and built their enthusiasm and determination to deliver first class service to their members in Jamaica and the Caribbean,” COK Sodality said.

The 50th anniversary logo was unveiled by COK’s Chief Executive Officer Ambassador Aloun Ndombet-Assamba, along with CEO Steadman Pitterson.

Assamba challenged the COK team members to build on the significant achievements made by the credit union over the past 50 years, and emphasized that the 50th anniversary theme, “COK – Created, Owned and Powered by You,” underlines the credit union’s commitment to be more member-focused. To that end Ndombet-Assamba said the credit union will be holding a series of meetings throughout the year to hear from members and to ensure that it remains responsive to their needs and concerns.

The City of Kingston Co-operative Credit Union Ltd was incorporated in 1967 to serve citizens of Kingston and St Andrew.
