Italian Company Buys Controlling Stake In EPL

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—EPL, which provides technology services to credit unions, has sold a controlling share to Dedagroup NA, the North American subsidiary of an Italian software and IT services company of the same name.

Dedagroup supports IT and digital operations in grocery, fashion and financial institutions, and its investment in Birmingham marks the group's entrance to the U.S. market, according to the company.

"Dedagroup's investment in our company and team represents a transformative opportunity to capture market share while continuing our commitment to serving the U.S. credit union industry at the highest levels," EPL President and CEO Wayne Benson said in a released statement.

In addition to Dedagroup, EPL is owned by seven credit unions and the League of Southeastern Credit Unions. EPL’s best known product suite is i-Power, a collection of software applications that manages the credit union operations supply chain.
