OSHKOSH, Wis.–Pending a member vote, the $25-million UW Oshkosh Credit Union will be absorbed via a merger by Prospera Credit Union in Appleton, Wis.
In a statement, UWOCU said it was having an increasingly difficult time competing in the marketplace and in being able to invest in expensive and complex technologies. The merger will provide members of both CUs with more services and products, with both credit unions expanding their number of branch locations, according to the credit unions. Prospera Credit Union has $215 million in assets and approximately 20,000 members.
UWOCU members will vote on the merger Dec. 1.
