DES MOINES, Iowa–The Iowa Credit Union League has announced that its CEO, Pat Jury, is moving to a consulting role with the league and its holding company, effective June 29.

Jury has been president and CEO of the trade association since 2006. According to the league, a successor will be named later this month.

Jury and the ICUL are fresh off a victory in the state legislature in which an effort to apply a new tax to credit unions was defeated.

The league noted that during his time with the Iowa league he also helped to create a competitive state charter that “supported membership growth.”

In all, Jury has spent 29 years with the league, including included 10 years as chairman of Affiliates Management Co., the holding company structure he was instrumental in creating.

The league reported that under Jury’s leadership, ICUL capital holdings grew from $20 million to $115 million, and the organization maintained 99% credit union affiliation.

“Pat’s exemplary model of servant leadership has inspired leaders throughout our entire organization,” said Brent Helin, ICUL board chair. “Through his exceptional management skills, financial stewardship and clear vision for our future, he has cultivated a strong bench of talented, highly tenured leaders that will continue to support this organization into the future. As a result, we’re very well positioned for a smooth leadership transition.”
