MERIDEN, Conn.–Connecticut’s Credit Unions are celebrating their first-ever “Connecticut Credit Union Week” in conjunction with International Credit Union Week.
The goal is to increase awareness of credit unions and celebrate the role credit unions have in improving the lives of members in the communities they serve, according to the Credit Union League of Connecticut.
Throughout the week, Connecticut’s Credit Unions will celebrate membership, value, community, financial well-being, their authentic difference—which is the theme of International CU Week--security, and accessibility. Credit unions throughout the state will hold celebratory events for their members; everything from donuts in the branch to holding a community shred day, the CULC reported.
“Each Connecticut credit union brings a unique member experience, ensuring that whatever a consumer is seeking, there is a credit union that will meet those needs,” said Jill Nowacki, president/CEO of the Credit Union League of Connecticut, in a statement. “This is the premise behind our consumer awareness initiative and our Connecticut’s Credit Unions tag line, ‘There’s One for You.’ We are looking forward to expanded awareness of credit unions through this campaign and additional cause marketing efforts are planned.”
The Credit Union League of Connecticut reported it developed the celebration week in partnership with their consumer awareness committee and South Carolina-based Your Marketing Co. The League said it has provided a number of resources for credit unions, including a social media toolkit, an animated video that explains what a credit union is, and printed posters and teller handouts at no cost to the credit union. To further support credit union efforts, the league said it will also advertise the benefits of choosing a credit union on social media for each day of the celebration.
