FORT WAYNE, Ind.–Midwest America Credit Union here has reportedly filed suit against Arby’s Restaurant Group over its recent data breach.
The credit union is seeking a proposed class action alleging that the company’s cybersecurity was weak and that as an issuer of credit and debit cards it incurred costs as a result.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Atlanta, according to Reuters. It is seeking damages for the costs of investigating and refunding fraudulent charges and replacing cards affected by the breach for itself and potentially any other plaintiffs that join the suit as a class action.
