Inclusiv and HADICUP To Host Webinar Today

NEW YORK–Inclusiv and HAPICUP—Hawaiian, Asian, Pacific Islander Credit Union Professionals—will host a webinar today to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month.

The session will run from 1:00-2:00 pm ET.

“During this session we will share a brief overview of the socio-economic status of AANHPI communities as well as have a conversation with the founders of HAPICUP, a new affinity group established to empower Hawaiian, Asian, and Pacific Islander credit union professionals, members, and communities through collective efforts,” Inclusiv said.

The Presenters

Presenters will include:

  • Jennifer Esperenza. Inclusiv said as senior director of Organizational Culture and Strategy, Esperenza promotes Coopera’s efforts to ensure financial inclusion for a variety of underserved populations. “She is a trained cultural anthropologist with two decades of research and teaching experience on the intersections of culture and economics. She provides training for staff on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) topics, advises organizations on best practices to ensure equitable workplaces, and assists credit unions to design products and services that are culturally relevant.”
  • Megan Curameng Green. Inclusiv said that as a first-generation Filipina American, Green was born and raised in Maryland just outside of Washington. She studied at the University of Maryland where she received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Art Studio, with a focus in graphic design. Green is now creative manager within the Marketing, Brand + Innovation team at Lake Trust Credit Union. She is thrilled to have found an organization that is committed to empowering its members and communities through financial wellbeing.
  • Ivory Kealani Lloyd. Born in Samoa and raised on the island of Kaua’i, Kealani Lloyd is social innovation and small business manager at Kaua’i FCU. “Her background is in sustainability and nonprofits and has previously served on the Sustainability Association of Hawai’i (SAH) board and the Sustainable Tourism Association of Hawai’i Board,” Inclusiv said. “She piloted an energy efficiency training program on O’ahu with at risk youth to bring energy efficiency education and tools to underserved native populations across the island of O’ahu while studying at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa.”
  • Hazelmae Overturf. Overturf earned her CUDE designation in 2019 and is the founding co-chair for BECU’s Young Professionals Employee Resource Group and a recent graduate of Filene Research Institute’s i3 program and also serves as the current VP of the West Coast Chapter of the African American Credit Union Coalition. Overturf is also part of a group working on establishing a national association for Native Hawaiian, Asian, and Pacific Islander credit union professionals (HAPICUP).
  • Mark Volz. According to Inclusiv, Volz worked as a teller and then commercial loan officer at a local community bank, “but really found his place when he took his first position at a credit union as a business lending manager. His time at Corporate Central Credit Union marked the beginning of his full immersion in the credit union movement, becoming a Credit Union Development Educator in 2018, a CUDE mentor in 2019 and now serving on the CUDE Scholarship Committee.” Volz also participated in the Wisconsin CU League's WILD (Wisconsin Ideation Local Development), CUES Emerge, and Filene's i3 Program. He is the president of the Cream City Chapter of Credit Unions and sits on the WI CU League's GAC Committee.
