Inclusiv Now Accepting Nominations for Its Annie Vamper Helping Hands Award

NEW YORK–Inclusiv has opened up nominations for its Annie Vamper Helping Hands Award, the highest honor presented by the organization and which celebrates individuals whose work exemplifies the Community Development Credit Union (CDCU) mission of serving the undeserved.

Annie Vamper

The award is given each year to honor the legacy of Annie Wilma Vamper, “a true hero in the CDCU movement, whose life-long dedication remains an inspiration to credit unions serving low-income people and communities today,” Inclusiv said. Vamper passed away in 1990.

In announcing the opening of the nomination process, Inclusiv said the past few years have resulted in increased visibility of the impact and potential of CDCUs in furthering financial inclusion and closing the racial wealth gap.

‘Making Incredible Gains Possible’

“Let's further this recognition by honoring the individuals around us making these incredible gains possible,” Inclusiv said, adding its member credit unions are invited to nominate staff, board members and volunteers for this prestigious award.

This year's honoree will be formally recognized and presented their award in-person at the Annie Vamper Helping Hands Award Dinner on May 1 at 6:30 PM ET during the  Inclusiv Conference 2023 in Memphis.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 25.
