In Wake Of Mass Shooting, CU Holds Blood Drive

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas – In the wake of the Orlando nightclub shootings, Texas Partners Federal Credit Union hosted a blood drive yesterday to provide support for shooting victims.

The blood drive is also being co-hosted with the League of United Latin American Citizens.

The blood drive took place at Texas Partners’ branch here from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The credit union noted that blood donated at this drive will not be shipped directly to Orlando, but by donating blood the local Scott & White Hospital will be less likely to need to purchase blood from the American Red Cross, which in turn will be able to use the blood for disasters such as the Orlando nightclub shootings.

All donors received a free lunch bag and were entered to win two tickets to Six Flags.
