SANDY, Utah–The South Towne Expo Center has a new moniker after a credit union bought the naming rights.
The facility is now the Mountain America Expo Center after the credit union secured the rights with a 10-year $3.9-million agreement with Salt Lake County, which will retain ownership of the facility.
The 258,000-square-foot venue hosts 700,000 visitors and more than 270 events annually, including consumer conventions, community-based conferences, trade shows, career and health fairs, training seminars, banquets and parties.
According to the statement from the two organizations, the partnership will allow Mountain America to host quarterly financial seminars, giving the local community more access to financial education resources.
Additionally, Mountain America members will receive promotional benefits for select events, and the agreement will also provide visitors access to multiple ATMs that will be added throughout the venue.
“Mountain America is pleased to partner with Salt Lake County,” Mountain America CEO Sterling Nielsen said in the statement. “This partnership will allow us to further support the community in financial literacy efforts while maintaining our commitment to being a strong financial provider in the Intermountain West.”
