RICHLAND, Wash.–As the debate continues over credit unions vs. banks, Gesa Credit Union here has achieved a rare honor–it has been voted both the Best Bank and the Best Credit Union by readers of a local publication.
It also won the “Best Company to Work For” award for the second year in a row.
The $1.95-billion Gesa Credit Union won the award in a vote by readers of the Tri-City Herald.
In addition to the tri-cities, Gesa also has a presence in the Spokane, Walla Walla, Yakima, Moses Lake and Wenatchee, Wash., markets.
Chartered in 1953 by employees of General Electric, the credit union now has a statewide field of membership.
