In The #MeToo Era, A White Paper On Sexual Harassment

MADISON, Wis.–A white paper titled, “#MeToo: Rethinking Sexual Harassment Procedures, has been published by the CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council.

“The #MeToo movement has brought a shift in awareness and action against sexual harassment and sexual assault,” said the Council in releasing the paper. “Both pose significant problems, and awareness, education, and training are helping to defeat them. Sexual harassment training and procedures have been a consistent element of the human resources function for decades. Yet, in light of the #MeToo movement, new emphasis is being placed on employer responsibility amidst widespread sexual harassment allegations across many industries and organizations.”

According to the Council, the white paper covers:

  • The broader societal reaction to the #MeToo movement
  • How it has inspired change
  • How credit unions are responding and making changes within their organizations

CUNA Council members are eligible to receive complimentary copies of the paper, and hundreds of other white papers. The paper is available online in the white paper section of www.cunacouncils.org.
