PURCHASE, N.Y.—Thirty-seven percent of people in Latin America and the Caribbean say they plan to use cryptocurrency next year. However, this figure jumps significantly, when it comes to younger people’s perception of cryptocurrencies, a new study reveals.
A Mastercard payments survey shows 67% of Millennials in Latin America are more willing to use cryptocurrency now than a year ago. Learning more about cryptocurrencies interests another 79% of Millennials. Meanwhile, 76% of Millennials said they would use them more if they understood them better, Yahoo Finance reported.
According to the survey, 93% of consumers globally are considering using emerging payments in the next year—emerging payments being cryptocurrencies, contactless, biometrics and QR codes.
The survey featured 15,569 respondents from 18 countries in four regions worldwide, excluding Europe.
