DUBUQUE, Iowa—Card-reading skimmers were recently found on two Dupaco Community CU ATMs here.
An employee at the Dupaco branch at 2245 Flint Hill Drive discovered the illegal device on a drive-up ATM machine during a routine inspection, KCRG.com reported. Dubuque police and the Dupaco fraud prevention team were able to determine from surveillance video that the skimmer was placed on the machine on Dec. 15.
Officials then reviewed ATM video from other Dupaco branches, and found evidence of a suspected skimmer placement on a drive-up ATM at the 3299 Hillcrest Road location That device was put on the machine on Dec. 15 as well.
CU officials believe that skimmers were also placed on the same ATMs in the morning on Dec. 9, and removed later in the afternoon, KCRG.com reported.
