In Colorado, New CEO Named; In Pennsylvania, a Retirement is Announced

DENVER–Credit Union of Colorado has named a new president and CEO.

Phil Smith

The $2.37-billion credit union has named Phil Smith to lead the organization. Smith has previously served as chief operating officer from December of 2010 through 2022.

Prior to that, he also held positions as vice president with Public Service Credit Union and as VP with Affinity Plus Credit Union, beginning in 2005.

“I’m proud to have the opportunity to continue and foster Credit Union of Colorado’s legacy in my role as president. Every day our team endeavors to actively support our members and the communities we serve,” said Smith. “I’m dedicated to the implementation of strategic, financially prudent and innovative solutions – providing the best staff and member experiences while positioning the credit union for continued growth and expansion.”

Smith is a graduate of the University of Colorado-Boulder.

Credit Union of Colorado has more than 155,000 members.

Jeff Debree

Retirement in Pennsylvania

Separately, in Scranton, Penn., Penn East FCU President and CEO Jeff Debree has announced plans to retire this summer. Debree has been with the $258.4-million Penn East for more than 19 years.

The credit union said it has hired an outside firm to lead the search for a successor.
