CHICAGO--The Illinois Credit Union League has wrapped up its 93rd annual convention here.
Themed “Innovate. Integrate. Motivate,” the three-day event included opening remarks by ICUL President/CEO Tom Kane, who, Kane spoke to ICUL’s “successful advocacy efforts” in 2023, including the unanimous passage of the Illinois Credit Union Act in July.
Kane also pointed to the “thriving” training and events opportunities and partnerships available for credit union professionals in Illinois, and the league’s upcoming redesigned website, according to the league.
Separately, CUNA CEO Jim Nussle asked for support of and provided an update on the proposed CUNA/NAFCU merger and the planned new organization, America’s Credit Unions.
As part of the event’s exhibit hall, the league said it held its annual CUPAC Auction and Wine Pull, as well as the annual CU Kind Day service project benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Mascot Parade Held
“(The) credit union mascot parade stole the show – raising over $8,700 for various local charities,” the ICUL added. “Innovate. Integrate. Motivate, is the theme that encompasses the League’s vision of helping credit unions and in building our own team,” said Kane. “It was an honor, and a lot of fun, to connect with so many credit union professionals and our partners in the movement.”
