Illinois League Honors Numerous People For Achievements; Cooperative CU Association Names New Board Officers

CHICAGO–The Illinois Credit Union League has concluded its annual meeting here, during which it inducted three people into its Hall of Fame and honored numerous others, while the Cooperative CU Association has named a new board chair and executive officers.

The meeting, which drew 500 attendees, was a return to an in-person format after 2020’s meeting was held virtually due to the COVID pandemic.

Dan Hampton, retired Hall of Fame football player with the Bears and co-host of the weekly “Hamp and O’B” Bears radio show, helped to kick off the meeting as the opening keynote.

“I’m thrilled the league was able to provide our industry colleagues the opportunity to connect in-person this year,” said Tom Kane, president and CEO of the Illinois Credit Union System.  “While we’ve kept engaged during the pandemic, returning to Chicago for our annual convention felt like a reunion. I could feel the enthusiasm of people at the event and I enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces in person.”
