NAPERVILLE, Ill.—The Illinois Credit Union League and Envisant subsidiary are reporting they have set aside funds to sponsor Illinois credit union participation in CUNA’s 2023 Credit Union Awareness program.
Credit unions that are eligible for this sponsorship can opt in to get their 2023 participation costs covered by the fund.
The Credit Union Awareness program targeted paid digital campaigns developed by credit unions to increase consumer consideration for the credit union brand. Originally known as the “Open Your Eyes” campaign, the program underwent a strategic expansion in 2022, adding both search engine optimized organic content and consumer engagement capabilities, and is now better known as YourMoneyFurther.com.
Increase in Visits
According to CUNA, consumer traffic increased to more than 16 million site visits in just nine months and credit union locator/matcher visits for credit unions to nearly a half a million nationwide.
“What makes me enthusiastic about CUNA’s Awareness program is the positive progression I am seeing,” said ICUL President and CEO Tom Kane. “The program makes efficient use of its resource to spread awareness and interest in the benefits of credit union membership. I’m glad that once again we can support participation by covering the plan costs for Illinois credit unions with assets under $100 million.”
‘Big Lift in Visibility’
Added Chris Lorence, executive director of Credit Union Awareness, the CUNA-owned subsidiary overseeing the campaign, “Our partnership with the league and Envisant is one we are extremely proud of. From the very beginning, the leadership at the league and their service organization have demonstrated the long-term commitment needed to create change in both consumer consideration and its impact on market share. We look forward to working with all credit unions in Illinois, and now because of Envisant’s generosity, those with the smallest budgets will get a big lift in their visibility.”
The league said Envisant’s sponsorship will cover the costs of the standard level of participation for eligible Illinois credit unions. For credit unions who have already signed up for the standard participation plan, Envisant said it will cover the additional cost to upgrade to the Premium plan level.
