HOUSTON–In celebration of International Credit Union Day, Energy Credit Union has launched a charitable foundation called “ECCU Cares.”
The credit union said it partnered with the Cornerstone Credit Union League to open the donor-advised fund, the purpose statement for which it said aligns this year’s ICU Day theme, “Empowering Your Financial Future!”
The mission of the Foundation is to protect and empower our communities through grants that support two focus areas, environment and education, the credit union said.
The new foundation will be introduced to employees and members alike today when its landing page goes live. The site is equipped to accept donations.
“The ECCU Cares Foundation is managed by a board of volunteers made up of ECCU employees who are giving of their time and resources,” the credit union said. “We are very excited to formalize our efforts to empower the communities that we serve every day through the foundation.”
