IC FCU Launches $50,000 Fund to Help Those Hurt by Pandemic

FITCHBURG, Mass.– IC Federal Credit Union here has launched a new community initiative fund that will be  distributed to those who are struggling as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The credit union has provided $50,000 for the assistance.

“We want our community to know that we are here for them,” said Board Chair Norman Gariepy. “We sincerely hope that some financial relief will help families feel a little more empowered, and little by little, a surge of energy will spread throughout our community.”

Added CEO Phil Richards, “Appropriately,” we have named this new initiative ‘EMPOWER,’ and we plan to meet with community leaders and non-profit organizations to help decide where assistance is most needed.”
