POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.–Hudson Valley Credit Union has named a new president and CEO to succeed the retiring Mary Madden.
The $6.3-billion HVCU has named Jonathan W. Roberts to lead the organization effective Sept. 19. Roberts most recently served as executive vice president at Webster Bank in Stamford, Conn., where he was head of their Community Banking division and served as a member of the executive committee, according to the credit union.
HVCU added that Roberts has extensive consumer and commercial financial experience over the past 28 years with a number of well-respected institutions, including First Bank in St. Louis and Santander Bank in Philadelphia.
“After extensive conversations with Jonathan, I am confident the transition will be smooth and seamless,” said Board Chairman Nancy Kappler-Foster. “His financial acumen, strategic vision, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community are the perfect mix to help our credit union achieve even greater success.”
Cincinnati, Wharton Grad
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Roberts holds several certifications from The Wharton School of Business, General Management Program including topics such as strategy, innovation, digital marketing, and mergers and acquisitions.
Most recently, he served as chairman for the Urban League of Greater Hartford, HVCU said.
