MIDDLETOWN, Penn.–How many hot dogs can a credit union member eat in five minutes?
The answer to that critical question was answered during Mid-Atlantic Corporate’s Third Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest, which brought in $2,500 for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals.
This year’s contest had 12 contestants and 15 sponsors.
Jack Diamond, a member of Members 1st FCU and PSECU, beat the all-time record and won the contest, eating 11 hot dogs in five minutes. In addition to the champion, contestants included Ricki Amin, Belco Community CU; Bob Keener, Belco Community CU; Sam Glesner, Cornerstone FCU; Lauren Kell, Cornerstone FCU; Jeremy Ackerley, First Capital FCU; Alecia Kolar, Hershey FCU; Joseph Strickler, Lebanon FCU; Arlanda Dintaman, Members 1st FCU; Zach Heckert, Members 1st FCU; Rodney May, Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU; and Shawn Baile of PSECU.
All of the proceeds were donated to the local CMN Hospital, Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
“There is no greater feeling than watching our credit union community come together to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the kids of Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital,” said Erin Doan, administration and community relations director for Mid-Atlantic Corporate. “This is the third year for our Hot Dog Eating Contest, and each year is more successful than the last. We hope to see the contest grow even more in the future and create bigger opportunities for our local CMN Hospital.”
