ROCHESTER, N.Y.—While mobile transactions are backed by tokenization, consumers still see them as less secure than traditional plastic.
The perception that mobile payments are less secure has led a majority of U.S. adults to value additional security measures for mobile payments, a new study shows.
The report, from The Harris Poll, reveals 90% of respondents would want the ability to approve some or all mobile device transactions before the transaction is completed, Net Security explained in its analysis.
Seventy-one percent are interested in approving all such transactions.
One in five (19%) would prefer only to approve some transactions, such as those totaling $100 or more, the report shows.
