WASHINGTON—The House has passed by voice vote legislation to extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through Sept. 30.
The program is currently set to expire at the end of May; the bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
Both credit union trade groups had been supportive of the extension, with NAFCU telling lawmakers to not let the program lapse “as it would put millions of Americans at risk.”
