WASHINGTON--The House, by a 217-213 vote, passed a continuing resolution Tuesday evening to fund the federal government through Sept. 30.
Funding is set to expire March 14 without Senate passage and the president’s signature on a funding bill.
"We are glad the House passed the CR last night and urge the Senate to quickly follow suit," said Defense Credit Union Council Chief Advocacy Officer Jason Stverak. "As we have told our members last week, people are experiencing financial uncertainty and our nations credit unions will always stand ready to assist our members. Ensuring the government doesn’t shut down will help ease some of the anxiety being experienced by government employees and their families."
