WASHINGTON–The House is adjourned this week but the Senate is in session.
CUNA said it will be watching the one hearing scheduled this week, in this case by the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. On Thursday, that committee will hold a hearing titled, “Examining Bipartisan Bills to Promote Affordable Housing Access and Safety.”
Testifying at the meeting will be Ivory N. Mathews, interim executive director with Columbia Housing; Mark J. Yost, president and CEO of Skyline Champion Corp. (testifying on behalf of the Manufactured Housing Institute), and Peggy Bailey, VP-for Housing Policy with the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
Separately, CUNA said it has recently contacted all 535 members of Congress to “underscore the credit union difference.”
