WASHINGTON–The nominations of NCUA board nominees Rodney Hood and Todd Harper have been passed out of the Senate Banking Committee and will now go to the
full Senate for approval. No date has been set for the latter vote.
In addition to the Hood and Harper nominations, the committee also advanced the nomination of Dr. Mark Calabria to head the Federal Housing Finance Administration, which among other things, oversees Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
As CUToday.info reported here, Calabria was subjected to a grilling by Democratic members of the committee during the same nomination hearing at which Hood and Harper appeared.
Both Hood and Harper have the support of the credit union trade groups, and both have served previous stints at NCUA, with Hood as a prior board member and Harper as a former member of staff. Hood and Harper outlined their respective philosophies during the hearing here.
