Home Sales Take a Dip

WASHINGTON–With numbers lower than expected, new home sales declined a bit in May following strong sales during April.

According to the Commerce Department, sales ran at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 551,000, lower than the 560,000 pace forecast by economists, and followed a downward revision to April data. That rate, originally reported as 619,000, was marked down to 586,000.
