NEW YORKâHome prices rose 3.9% in February from a year earlier, a slight slowdown from the 4.1% annual increase recorded in January, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index.
The 10-city composite saw a 5.2% year-over-year gain, down from 5.4% the month before.
The 20-City Composite posted a year-over-year increase of 4.5%, down from a 4.7% increase in the previous month. New York again reported the highest annual gain among the 20 cities with a 7.7% increase in February, followed by Chicago and Cleveland with annual increases of 7.0% and 6.6%, respectively. Tampa posted the lowest return, falling 1.5%.
