WASHINGTON—As the number of days wind down to the November elections, CUNA, the leagues and credit unions are picking up the pace of Hike the Hill visits.
Last week six leagues were in town to visit capitol Hill, and this week seven other leagues will talk to members of Congress, CUNA said.
“Louisiana, Idaho, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Iowa and Wisconsin are in this week to meet with their Congressional delegations,” said CUNA Chief Political Officer Richard Gose.
Gose added that as CUNA wraps up its “Ease the Burden” campaign this year, nearly sent 30,000 messages have reached Capitol Hill to date from the effort.
“We have also collected 140 stories directly from credit unions about how regulatory burden has affected their ability to provide financial service their members need,” said Gose.
NAFCU is also hosting its annual Congressional Caucus in Washington this week.
