WASHINGTON–Both the House and the Senate are in session this week, with the House agenda to be dominated by a vote on the American Rescue Plan, the $1.9-trillion stimulus plan that has been returned to the House after passing the Senate.
The Senate will hold several nomination hearings this week.
Among the hearings credit unions will be watching this week, according to CUNA’s chief advocacy officer, Ryan Donovan.

- Senate Banking Committee hearing titled, “Who Wins on Wall Street? GameStop, Robinhood and the State of Retail Investing”
Wednesday
- House Financial Services Committee hearing: Justice for All: Achieving Racial Equity Through Fair Access to Housing and Financial Services
- House Committee on Small Business: The Next Steps for the Paycheck Protection Program
Thursday
- House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions will convene for a virtual hearing entitled, “Slipping Through the Cracks: Policy Options to Help America’s Consumer During the Pandemic.”
- House Committee on Appropriations “Oversight of the U.S. Postal Service.”
The House will also mark-up the nomination of Rohit Chopra to be director of the CFPB.
