Help With Getting School District Fiscally Fit Earns CU Naming Rights to Center for Getting Physically Fit

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio–Following a $250,000 donation, Homeland Credit Union has obtained naming rights to a fitness center owned by the Chillicothe City School District.

In early 2019, the Chillicothe City School District obtained ownership of the Chillicothe Fitness and Racquet Club, according to the Highland County Press.  The structure, which was originally built in 1981, has remained open and operational for staff and students but remains in dire need of repairs. Some of the planned repairs to be made as a result of Homeland CU’s donation include installing new all-purpose flooring, updated restrooms, the installation of an elevator, modernization of current equipment and rooms, among other things, the Highland County Press reported.

The facility will now be named for the credit union.
“We are very passionate about this partnership and what it means not only for the Chillicothe City School District, but for the surrounding school districts and visiting teams, who will utilize the facility,” Homeland CU CEO Shayne Poe told the publication.
