HONOLULU—Hawaii Central FCU (HCFCU) said it has become the first credit union in Hawaii to offer its members video banking.
Members can use the service to securely video chat face-to-face with the CU’s local staff from their computer, tablet or mobile device, the credit union stated.
“While our doors have always remained opened throughout the pandemic, we listened to our members who were uncomfortable to be out and about or had members who moved off-island and wanted to create a way to keep in touch with them and all of our members without losing that personal touch,” said President Drake Tanabe. “By investing in Video Banking, we are able to accomplish that and are happy to conveniently serve our members, no matter where they are.”
Through video banking, HCFCU members can open an account, apply for a loan, get online banking assistance, e-sign certain documents or just ask us a question about their account without having to come into a branch.
Hawaii Central said members can choose how they would like to communicate with the credit union by selecting video, voice or on-line chat, with available during normal office hours with dedicated staff members supporting the solution.
The $331-million Hawaii Central has more than 17,000 members.
