Hawaii CU Expands Using Mall Kiosk

HONOLULU–The $537-million Hickam Federal Credit Union has opened what it is calling a “first of its kind banking concept” in Hawaii with a kiosk branch in the Kahala Mall Shopping Center.

At the new kiosk branch, members are able to conduct many of the typical credit union teller transactions themselves through several self-service touch-points, including an advanced function ATM with check scanning and cashing capabilities, an in-lobby teller terminal, and a product and service browsing bar outfitted with several notebooks.

The credit union, which was approved in 2011 to expand its services to the entire island of Oahu, said the Kahala Mall kiosk branch represents a strategic component towards the credit union’s long-term business plan of serving its broader field of membership.
