WASHINGTON—HEW Federal Credit Union is changing its name to Democracy Federal Credit Union.
Chartered to serve the Department of Health Education & Welfare (now known as the Department of Health & Human Services), it also now serves the Department of Education, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the FDA, Gallaudet University, and a number of SEGs. The new name reflects the broader FOM. The new name will be effective Jan. 1 and will come with a new tagline: Financial Freedom for All.
Paul J. Lucas is responsible for the name change and the related branding.
