SANTA FE, N.M.–Winona Nava, the well-known president and CEO of Guadalupe Credit Union here, has announced plans to retire at the end of October.
Nava has led the organization for 32 years, overseeing growth to $263 million from $10,000, as the credit union grew to serve more than 27,000 members.
The CU said her “visionary leadership” has been the driving force behind GCU's exponential growth and the delivery of vital financial services to underserved communities.

"Winona has not just been a leader but a trailblazer in our industry," said GCU Chair Linda Medina. "She has shown true dedication to financial empowerment, which will continue to impact our communities for years to come."
Added Nava, "Although I'm happy to move onto a new chapter in my life, I will miss all of you and GCU’s mission of 'Providing Financial Empowerment in the Communities We Serve.' I reflect with immense pride on the journey we have undertaken together.”
