Grow Financial Rolls Out Mobile Response Unit

TAMPA, Fla.—Not waiting for terrible weather to strike, $2.2-billion Grow Financial has rolled out its Mobile Response Unit, a temporary office that is now operating in the parking lot of its Brandon office.

The move comes just as hurricane season arrives in the Sunshine State.

The mobile response unit can provide comprehensive and secure banking services, including deposits and withdrawals, access to account information and loan applications, the credit union told the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

“Basically it’s a store on wheels,” Bob Hyde, vice president/enterprise risk management, told the publication.

The Journal noted the move is more than an academic exercise, pointing to a NAFCU study that found that 32.1% of credit unions responding to its poll had to put their disaster recovery plans into action, either due to heavy storms or human error.
