COTTAGE GROVE, Wis.–Summit Credit Union is proposing to build a new headquarters here as part six story, 120,000-140,000-square-foot building that would be located on about 11 acres at the southeast corner of Highway N and Interstate 94.
During a Cottage Grove Plan Commission meeting here, Peter Tan, of Strang Inc., the architect group, presented Summit’s proposal for the new corporate headquarters. The credit union, which is currently headquartered in Madison, Wis., is seeking a rezoning of the land to accommodate the size and nature of the building.
The plan does not currently include a branch, although the $2.6-billion SCU indicated it may open an office-level branch for employees to use.
Summit told the Plan Commission it anticipates more than 200 employees using the building following a consolidation from four other administrative offices.
The site would also include about 90 underground parking stalls, as well as about 400 surface level stalls.
According to the presentation made to the Commission, potential building amenities include training rooms and wellness facilities, as well as an onsite day care for employees. Site amenities being considered include walking paths and outdoor recreation areas, possibly including sand volleyball courts.
The credit union will be making a more detailed presentation at an upcoming Plan Commission meeting.
