WASHINGTON—NAFCU has announced additional speakers for its Congressional Caucus later this year. The association said journalist and best-selling author Gretchen Carlson has been added as a keynoter, while NCUA Board Chairman Rodney Hood will also be on hand to provide an update on the agency.
They will join a lineup that includes President Donald Trump's acting Chief of Staff and Director of the Office of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Mark Calabria, officials from the Treasury Department and Office of the Director of National Intelligence and journalist Major Garrett.
Registration for NAFCU's Congressional Caucus, happening Sept. 8-11, is available here.
NAFCU noted it met with Hood in May, shortly after he took office in April to discuss priorities for the agency. Hood has previously identified several issues he plans to address during his tenure, including:
- Reducing regulatory burdens – Hood has said he wants "effective but not excessive regulation"
- Modernizing the federal credit union charter
- Addressing cybersecurity issues
- Creating opportunities for credit unions to serve more communities
