GreenState CU In 10-Year Deal for Naming Rights to Fieldhouse

CORALVILLE, Iowa–GreenState Credit Union has entered into a 10-year naming rights deal for the fieldhouse being built here as part of a new arena.

The 60,000-square-foot fieldhouse–part of the Xtream Arena–will be called the GreenState Family Fieldhouse when it is completed in 2020. GreenState is paying $1.4-million over 10 years as part of the deal.

The fieldhouse will feature five, full-size athletic courts and host a wide range of athletic events, and is expected to draw 250,000 visitors in its first year.

“That’s going to be a huge attraction to this area,” Coralville Mayor John Lundell told local media.

As part of the GreenState agreement on the fieldhouse, GreenState will provide free open gym time for underserved youth and local school districts that want to use the space for sports, dances and other community events, according to a news release announcing the partnership, the credit union said.

It added it is also planning to work with Coralville Parks and Recreation on using the space for programming.

The Xtream Arena will seat up to 5,000 people and host concerts, events and University of Iowa volleyball games.

Prior to its name change, GreenState Credit Union was known as University of Iowa Community Credit Union.
